Sofia studied at Kingston University and joined Eric Parry Architects in 2006. In 2017 she was appointed Associate.
Currently Sofia is leading on the design of a new Ambassador’s Residence for the British Embassy in Beijing (a competition won by the practice in 2019) and on the delivery of the fitness and wellness areas of the prestigious Chelsea Barracks residential development in London (due to complete in 2021). Previously she was Project Architect for the remodelling and interior fit-out of a duplex apartment on Eaton Square in the Belgravia Conservation Area for a private client.
Sofia has also gained extensive experience in residential and hotel developments, including two large-scale projects in central London. She also led on the interior design of the new Spa at the top of the Four Seasons Hotel in central London, housed in a new rooftop extension also designed by Eric Parry Architects. The work included sourcing and specifying all the finishes, furniture and fittings for use in the Spa. She was also responsible for the interiors concept for a residential project for Msheireb Properties in Qatar, part of the wider redevelopment of the centre of Doha.
Sofia’s projects have enabled her to work closely with manufacturers and artisans and she has gained a deep understanding in the field of interiors. She has also been involved in a number of the practice’s competitions, including proposals for the redevelopment of Sherborne House Hotel in Dorset and the winning scheme for the redevelopment masterplan of the Hotel Suvretta House in St Moritz in Switzerland that sadly didn’t go beyond competition stage.
After completing her studies, and prior to joining Eric Parry Architects, Sofia worked in the studios of Anouska Hempel Design and Russell Jones in London.
