Gary studied architecture at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, the University of Technology Brno in the Czech Republic and University College Dublin. He joined Eric Parry Architects in 2014 and was appointed Associate in 2020.
Since joining the practice Gary has worked on various commercial and residential projects and has a particular interest in the design, detailing and delivery of external facades. Gary is currently the Associate leading the delivery of the external facades on Chelsea Barracks Phase 4. The scheme for Qatari Diar consists three high-end residential buildings arranged around a private courtyard alongside a new public square with shared below-ground amenities. Gary has been the team lead for facades on the project since 2015 and is currently working with the appointed specialist contractors on the delivery of the project which is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2021.
Recently Gary worked as Project Architect, with particular focus on the external facades and roof, for a new office building in the City of London. Positioned above existing underground lines and a newly completed Crossrail development he worked through the detailed design of the facades for the 11-storey building responding to the particular challenges, constraints and opportunities of the site. Previously he completed two planning applications for new hotels in both the City of London and the City of Westminster.
Prior to joining Eric Parry Architects, Gary worked for practices in the Czech Republic and Ireland. He spent six years with O’Donnell + Tuomey in Dublin where he worked extensively on the new Lyric Theatre in Belfast and the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre for the London School of Economics; both shortlisted for the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize.
