After he graduated from Hiroshima Institute of Technology in Japan, he came to UK and studied at Architectural Association School of Architecture and London Metropolitan University. Akira is qualified in both UK and Japan.

Before joining the practice he has gained broad experience in offices such as David Chipperfield Architects, Kengo Kuma Associates, Stanton Williams and Foster and Partners. He has worked on wide range of projects including residential, commercial, cultural, educational, mix use, transport and masterplan across different stages in UK as well as Europe, US, Middle east and Asia. In particular, he has worked on several high-profile award winning cultural projects including Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate at David Chipperfield Architects and Royal Opera House at Stanton Williams throughout most of the stages. Also he has worked on much larger scale projects, such as Waterfront masterplan project in Yokohama and Lusail Tower project in Quatar at Foster and Partners.

Akira has joined the practice in 2022 and is working on several large scale projects including 50 Fenchurch in London and Kyobashi in Tokyo as well as high-end residential projects in London.
