Four Seasons Hotel Spa

One of the capital’s top 5-star hotels, the Four Seasons is located on Hamilton Place, just off Park Lane in London’s exclusive Mayfair district. Dating from 1969, the hotel was in need of refurbishment to preserve its reputation as a luxurious haven.

The vision behind the new extension is a delicate white attic with a dark ebony stove-enamelled metal roof, which overhangs and shades the new glass elevation and complements the existing Portland Stone façades. The balconies to the north elevation are enclosed with frameless double-glazing to make them usable all year round and increase the area of the rooms in the process.

The form and high quality materials used in the additional storey adds a sophisticated gravitas to the existing building.

“The extraordinary and innovative addition of a new 10th floor is the crowning glory of the newly transformed hotel and a one-of-a-kind urban sanctuary in which guests can relax and rejuvenate. The location itself sets it apart from anything else in the city with its unrivalled rooftop position... Inspired by the adjacent parklands, Eric Parry has created a fluid and diaphanous environment that makes dramatic use of the natural materials that are indigenous to the area, brilliantly bringing the outdoors in and setting them against the stunning backdrop of the London skyline.”
John Stauss, Four Seasons Regional Vice President and General Manager
