Nick joined Eric Parry Architects in 1990 and became a Director in 1997. After working in London on a number of projects including Chiswick Park, Pembroke College and Stockley Park, Nick established the office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the practice between 1994 and 1998, where the practice completed an award winning residential development, Damai Suria in Kuala Lumpur.
On returning to London in 1998 he directed the team for the last phase of the refurbishment project at Mandarin Oriental, and the Mandarin Spa, including the Spa and main back of house areas before beginning a ten year period of working on a series of highly regarded commercial schemes in the City and West End of London.
The first of these was the award winning office building 30 Finsbury Square, which was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize in 2003. This was followed by the practice’s second commercial building to be shortlisted for the Stirling Prize (in 2009), 5 Aldermanbury Square, in the City of London, working on the scheme from inception to completion. The project won National Commercial Workplace at the 2008 BCO Awards and an RIBA Award in 2009.
More recently Nick has been responsible for the award-winning mixed use new build and refurbishment scheme, One Eagle Place and is currently leading the team for 10 Fenchurch Avenue for Saxon Land.
Currently Nick is project director for 1 Undershaft, a proposal for a new 73 storey office building and associated public realm, located at the heart of the Eastern Cluster in the City of London. He is also leading the development of a new 420,000 sq ft headquarters building for Cambridge Assessment in Cambridge.
Nick has taught in various Diploma Studios and Undergraduate Studios and was an external examiner at Kingston University from 2005 to 2009, and University College Dublin in 2010.
